Gender
This week was about Gender. This topic isn't my favorite just because so many people have many different perspectives on gender.
One thing that I really did enjoy talking about though was the different tendencies between male and female. Females are more social compared to men and men are more physical. Women are more likely to go out and just talk with people and men are more likely to go play sports. Not saying men or women can't do either, it's just more of a stereotype. Women are more socially aggressive and men are more violence aggressive. When women usually get into fights they say things that hurt they don’t usually physically hurt you they mentally hurt you. I have had some really toxic friends in my life and when they try to hurt me they say things that get to me because they know my insecurities so they use it against me. Men when they have a problem they usually like to physically fight, restle and whatever they do to get their anger out.
Another thing I really liked was when we watched this little clip in class and this man is teaching us the difference between men and women's brains. He said men's brains are like little boxes where nothing is connected; they even have a box with nothing in it. Men don’t connect things as much. For women their brains are like wire and everything is connected to each other. We tend to remember things and make connections with other things in our brain. Women tend to genuinely care about things and want to listen to others' problems. Men usually like to fix the problem when really all we need is for them to listen. Once again not saying this is how it always is, this is just what the majority of the studies show.
Without women there would be no man and without man there would be no women. Heavenly Father gave us the role of either a son of God or a Daughter of God. God said to replenish the earth with children and you can’t do that without a man and a woman once married. Gender is an essential characteristic to our eternal destiny. Elder Oaks said, “The purpose of mortal life and the mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to prepare the sons and daughters of God for their destiny—to become like our heavenly parents.”Each plays a certain role in life and in families. When in families the father is to provide for their family and the mom is too nurture. They need to work together to raise a family. A husband or wife shouldn’t make decisions without the advice of their spouse.
One thing that has stood out to me lately about all the gender stuff is, to treat everyone with kindness no matter what. We should love them no matter how they feel towards certain genders or if they feel as if they have other gender things going on. They are still huan and are still sons and daughters of God who he loves very much and we should love too. God wants us to bring others to Christ and by doing that is loving them and ministering to them. Not judging, not hating, just loving them. This world is very crazy and we just don’t know what's going on with people most of the time and anything can hurt them, so if we do our best to treat others the way we want to be treated then we are going to receive many blessings and feel much happier.
